My Indiglos Worked!!!

Hi guys. I just got some reverse gauges for my 95. When I was installing it, I saw that the needles were gonna get stuck and I read from previous posts that you guys hot glued/double-taped it. I didn't have either and it was freezing outside so I decided to just punch holes in them where the screws would be. I took a risk cuz I didn't know if they would work. Anyways, I put it all back together and ran the wires to my fuse box and turned them on. Haha no show. Luckily it was just a bad connection with the dimmer, so that was fixed. Now they look so awsome!! I was going to get indiglos, but saw that these were much better! WOW! If you guys are looking into indiglos, I suggest look into the reverse ones. Well, just wanted to let you guys know.

Do those gauges only work for a SE? The gas and heat gauges both face the right, on my GXE they face inwards towards one another....

Sorry I didn't reply. 95emeraldgxe, the gauges that dcmax put on the board look like mine. sorry, i have no digital camera. Yeah, dcmax...those are exactly mine. I have a 95 GXE and the indiglos i got didn't have holes in them...so I just drilled the holes for the screws. Came out to be okay in the end. If you have any questions let me know.

Yeah, I got mine from EBAY too. I was suprised to see it would fit a GXE!!!! Earlier they were only for the SE. I'm so happy!! Yeah, this guy shipped mine in a couple days..i live in WA. i was suprised. FYI, the needles get stuck because the gauges have no holes for screws, and if you try to tape it on...the screws behind the gauges pop up a little bit and the needle gets stuck..

Glad you guys like my setup. I have a 97 GLE and the install for the gauges wasn't too difficult, but the Intelliglow needles were time consuming. I got both items from eBay, the gauges were exactly from the same eBay seller DCmax linked you with, he should have some more up for auction, but be make sure which ones you are buying because there are 2, 95-97 and 98-99. For the Intelliglow Needles, they won't pop in a search for a Maxima, unless you just type in "needles maxima" and they are supposedly for 95-97 only because they have white needles, but could possibly be used on the 98-99 if you have white needles and not orange, but the orange needles can be sanded on the bottom to make them clear and white out could be used to make them white. They are just LED's that go under each factory needle for those who are completely clueless. The gauges ran for about $40.50 shipped, and the needles were $85 shipped, both were Christmas gifts from my girl. To install the gauges without having the needles sticking, I used some regular elementary school gluestick, lol. Worked perfectly. To install the needles, you need to go to Cheston's site, www.maximadriver.com, to see the accurate details. He also has how2's on the gauges and needles install. Hope you guys find this info helpful. By the way, I too had regular Indiglo gauges, and I'm also happier that I have the Reverse ones. If you haven't yet, please check out my homepage and sign the guestbook if you want, but 56k users beware, I have a lot of pics on the 1st page as well and the 2nd.

They're a pain in the a** if your not too careful and impatient, but with the very detailed instructions on maximadriver.com I was able to install them and have no problems and still have accurate readings from the needles.

Didn't someone ask about these guages recently?
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?threadid=90880
By the way, I have a 97 SE with orange needles. Is there anything I should know? Will the indiglo needles work? Thanks.

What did you do to correct the problem w/ the needles getting stuck... was the install hard to make on the gxe considering that they are not made for the gxe? I'm thinking about ordering and the sooner you fill me in the better. Thanks

Thanks, I have a 97 GLE where my stock needles were white over black faces. I wired the needles so that they come one with my park lights at their very brightest, so I can't dim the needles, I wouldn't see why I would, but I did wire the reverse indiglos to my factory dimmer switch so I can dim those, but for some reason they dim when I brighten the ac lights and vice versa, I must have spliced the wrong wire but it was the only way I could set it up to a the factory dimmer. The whole process took me about 2 hours.
