1997 Maxima Feed wire problem help

Yes, several things. Most common is the ignition switch going bad.
What happens in a working car is that the ignition key causes a relay to energize and the relay sends power to the starter solenoid via what you are calling the "feed wire" and the starter spins.
If the ignition switch is ok, then you could have a broken wire going to the relay, a bad relay or a broken wire between the relay and the starter. Once again, the ignition switch is the most likely problem.
