Radio code maxima 1995

I have just bought a 1995 Maxima and the radio code wasn't in the car and the radio isn't working. Others have said this model doesn't have a radio code but my book tells me it does, so is there any way to get the code without going to the dealer?

Is the radio OEM?

Does your radio diplay say "CODE"?

If it does then you need a code if it does not then something else is wrong.

OE 96 tape deck has no code. I've removed it, torn it apart and rebuilt it, and reinstalled it. Never had any issues with it needing a code.

There is no code for Maxima factory radios. What book are you looking at that says you need a code?

The owners manual audio system booklet. The first page says in big bold letters IMPORTANT SECURITY CODED. The car is a A32 series. So all the information is telling me that it does have a security code.

Someone on here created a thread on this issue recently and had pictures and it was indeed a Nissan radio with a code attached to it. It is different from US versions though. OP, what country are you located in?

I have never heard of Maxima radio that needs a code. But if you do really need one call your dealer. I think they should be able to help you.
