need some advice on suspension!

Greetings .org i have a 98 max gle with 100k its totally stock (i know boring)but as much fun as modding it would be, its just not practical for me to do so, im just keeping it stock, anyway i was hoping to get some advice as far as where to get the suspension replaced front and rear, maybe monroe or a place like that and what is the round about price at a place like monroe for front and rears...the reason im thinking about doing it is because it seems pretty harsh when hitting semi hard bumps and hoping it will get smoother! any of you 4th gen nuts have any info that may help? thanks i really appreciate the help max.org provides! be safe all!

Search around on the forum and you will see that Tokico Blues is what Nissan uses. If you want the OEM feel back, just get those and you will be all set along with all front suspension bushings.

BUMP!!! THANKS so far Trini

Thanks trini very appreciated info!! but was hoping for a few people who have experience in finding best (especially front replacement suspension) stock or stock equivilents for a good price! should i go to a nationwide franchise and get there equivalent to save a little cake? after all its mostly my girls ride but i do wanna have a smoother ride for when she and i drive it! im thinking that if the front susp. is smoother the front end parts may last a little longer before i need to replace some of them......thanks again....the .org is the fu....VERY BEST for learning about our ride! max.org rules...and very hapy i joined ..hoping to scrape up some extra money cuz i definately wanna become a supporting member real soon!!!!!!

Tokico HP would be my #1 choice for stock replacements.
Monroe OESpectrums would be my #2.

It's up to you on where to get the parts. I've bought from here, eBay, Rockauto, and all the local guys. It all depends on the deals and how fast I need it.

Depending on the condition of your mounts and hardware, you may be better off getting quick struts. They have the strut and the spring completely assembled with new rubber bushings, boots, mounts, and hardware. This can save you time and money. Its also a super simple bolt in. No spring compressors needed.

I put Monroe Quickstruts all the way around January 2010 at 190K miles. Now up to almost 244K miles and they are still doing fine. Much easier than replacing struts only; unbolt old and bolt in new - as previously noted no spring compression to mess with. Just be careful on front not to mess up your outside CV joints; I had to separate axle from hub to replace struts. Good luck.

Front pair were $380; rear pair were $262 - purchased around 12/2010; both sets from Advance Auto Parts on-line; did a store pickup so no shipping costs; installed myself. I have access to a facility with air tools and lifts, so made the job a little easier - but it is doable on jack stands in your garage/driveway. Take this opportunity to look at tie rod ends, ball joints, control arm bushings, etc.

You should get an alignment afterwards. Good luck.

dude, to be practical and keep in line with your question i'd do some kyb-gr2's with stock springs. you might want to replace the strut mounts cause they get beat up as well. ask the tech who does it to check the whole setup top to bottom, you might get away with just the struts. here's a link to the gr2's...http://www.ebay.com/itm/KYB-4-GR2-ST...314958&vxp=mtr
