cv boot scraped to hole. What can cause this?

my driver-side CV boot is scraped to hole with residue still on the up side of the LCA. I tried to turn wheel all the way to the left and right, and looked but did not see anything close enough to scrape it.

Orig. CVs lasted up to 190M until pass. CV gave up. I had both axels replaced with reman. parts at a local shop about 2 years ago (and has traveled about 20M). I had recently replaced (~ 2 mths ago) struts/shocks and at that time, IIRC, CVs were still good shape and dry, or at least no grease around to notice. Then visit alignment shop several times as formal procedure of new struts and for correcting minor pulls.

thanks,

What about the inner fender no getting clipped back in place and wind blow/bending it back against the boot. I have never seen this before, but just trying to think of what might possibly cause it.
