98 max engine swap help

Hello everyone this is my first and really serious tread..I have a 98 maxima manual transmission 'y' pipe headders cat back exaust...I've been looking arround for an engine swap I'm new to maximas I was Into dsm before (95 gst with VR4ENGINE) so question is...unstead of doing the vq35de will it be better to do a vg30-et with no much extra work..I really want to go turbo and I'm thinkng it'll be easuer if I get a turbo engine in there rather than making it turbo...what are your advises, what's better and wich will be easier to get results out of?

No. VQ35 is pretty much our only option. I doubt a vg30 would even fit.

The VG30 engine is physically smaller. In the 3rd gen, you couldn't swap in a VQ because it was too big to fit in. I guess you could put a VG30 in, but you would need to make custom engine mounts.

I think you would be better off with a VQ35.

Oh ok so I guess that answers my questionim not really trying to get into any custom work vq35 it will be...ill have the engine sitting for a month or so before I drop it in (at least that's the plan) to do little details to it clean it on all tha...any advises beside water pump and timing belt that I should do while I have it out to save time later on the future?...and going turbo should try to put money on something while its out...there's no rush since winter is coming I want to have it ready for next summer shows with gods will

Replacing the timing chain, tensioners and the water pump isn't a bad idea as they are a pita when the engine is installed. The only other thing is to figure out is if the rear main seal is leaking and do that while the engine is out.
