Hello,

I have a 96 max, probably getting a 98 as a parts car, kid supposedly blew the motor at 138k . Are they pretty much interchangeable? Thought I heard the front ends were a little different but that was it. Thank you much.

Trunk lid, tail lights, rear bumper cover, headlights, grill, fog lights (if any), front bumper cover are all different. Emissions stuff on the engine is different too. That most of it.

Emissions are only different if it was a California model. 98 Feds are the same as a 95-96 Fed spec.

The body is black, current car is gold. Extra set of rims would be nice as well as a softer drivers seat

Umm..rear O2 sensor is different and location is different. The EVAP sensors are different and has more components. Definitely not similar...
