new weird starting issue

So my max has developed a new and very odd starting issue. It used to just roll for a few seconds till it fired. But now it just stops spinning for a slit second then it goes again after doing that a few times in the 3-5 seconds it takes to start it fires right up. Once running it runs fantastic. My only thought is im hitting some kind of dead spot on the starter? Im also trying to get it to start faster altogether, but this new issue seams more pressing

That does sound like the typical starter failure. A guy posted a video on here just this week of the same thing. Find it and listen, if yours is the same you've got your answer.

I think the ground is okay. Because it doesn't do it all the time(just most the time) but would I benefit from adding that ground anyway? I just hope the starter last till Friday.hahaha

Put the new starter in and it improved the starting problem but still about 80% of the time dose the same thing. Ill add In that new ground. Dose it matter were on the oil pan? like the upper or lower half?

It does sound like a ground issue now. Mine used to do that then I had the clutch replaced and the ground cleaned on the mating surface between the motor and tranny...it does not have that hesitation to start anymore. Here is some pics of some places you can ground
