Axle seals

Change the axles and seals on a 97 5 speed. I put 3 quarts of gear oil in. However on the 4 quart it started leaking from passenger side axle. Anyway it don't leak much til I jack it up on the driver side...Anybody?

You sure you put in the passenger side seal and not a driver side? They're different.

^^^ good point!

The diameter of the driver's side axle (and the opening in the seal) is 1.535 inches.
The diameter of the passenger side axle (and the opening in the seal) is 1.299 inches.

Besides allowing oil to run out on the passenger side, if you have the seals mixed up side for side, the the one you have on the driver's side will be stretched so severely that it won't last very long.
