howdy, yall

The thick hose marked by yellow arrow. What is this part called and what is its function? OEM part number? It was broken at the airbox end when I got the car.

Please ignore the red circles and text.

Thx

I can't really tell from the photo, i would need a more straight down from above photo.

The one with the yellow arrow is part of the PCV system and the one below it is the auto transmission breather hose.

Yellow arrow is crank case vent hose. Just go to your local parts house and get the same size hose.

I replaced that hose 5 years with one I got from autozone and it has held fine. Two years ago I replaced the cracked crank hose on the front side connecting the 2 valve covers with a hose from autozone and it also held fine with no leaking.

problem is that the little plastic piece on the airbox that attaches to the hose broke off clean. looks like the only real permanent solution is to get a replacement airbox from a junkyard.

for now, i superglued the tube and taped it with gorilla tape as best as i could. pretty ghetto

btw, i ran the car for ~500 miles with the hose detached, and my MPG actually IMPROVED to ~24MPG from 21 MPG. However, it also set off "System too lean" error code after a while.
