Side exit exhaust!

So I was wondering for a while how would it look to have a side exit exhaust, so I did...

Sorry no sound clip yet, but here are the specs: 2.5 pipe, catalitic converter deleted, stock Y pipe with precats and a spintech muffler...

I love the whole setup but now the car sounds like a v8 while idle lol, so I might change the muffler to something else.... So I want input what do u think?? Keep or no?? And before anyone thinks it was a waste of money well the muffler was free and my friend and I at his shop did it so no money spent ;-)

Nothing wrong with making people think you have a v8.

I like the idea, I've thought about doing the same except on both sides.

Just do something to fit it into the side skirt.

Cut a hole up under there and make it fit. I put my jack stands in multiple places so taking one would be ok with me

just a few suggestions...
cut the pipe so it's flush with the body line...maybe a 30 degree cut.
consider getting a SS piece so it won't rust.
for style points consider getting oval pipes to tuck up into the skirt.

Ive considered some type of metal guard for my rear bumper as I have noticed a bit of discoloration from my exhaust on the bumper. If I found one/came up with one I liked, I would do it. I'd say the same goes for the side exit.

Not good, exhaust fume exits right at the rear entrant. Kid, dog, passenger will likely use that curb-side when you pick them up.

Not my cup of tea, but out of curiosity, why didn't you split off from the turning point under the car and have a pipe go to the other side as well? I've never seen just one side exit.

Kudos on being original, though.

This looks really interesting, I highly agree on tucking it into the side skirt. I would suggest making a metal guard that protects the side skirt and the general area. Please do make it flush with the body.

I was thinking painting the pipe black? Also considered a SS piece but dont know what would be the best...

Looks decent. How loud is it? Do you plan to put on some exhaust tip (just to make it shiny and not rust with time)?

If you had left the stock y and cat, you'd get a nice little grumble at idle and a low roar at wot. I had pretty much the same setup but it didn't exit, just dumped before the rear beam.

In it for the sound clip. This is awesome dude! Highly considering.... Did you end up bolting it on or welding it on? I wanna know the details.

Is it just hanging? Or do you have it holding on with exhaust hangers?

Look close on the pic of under. You can see it's welded to frame.

Is it illegal because it was too loud or is it because of its position?

Here in cali any exhaust modification is ilegal thats the law, so even after trying to argue with him hes right, and once he said he will give me a state ref ticket if I continued arguing I just shut up :-( so now I guess ill go back to my 2.5 piping and vibrant muffler :-(

Dang. That sucks. Sorry to hear that. I have to say, that's a pretty stupid law.
