Coolant leak in my 97 maxima
So I have a leak and I don't think it's my radiator because its dripping from some metal square that's under the right side of the hood directly under the belt skins of where the ac condenser coil would drip but its not that, please help! I'd post a picture but I can't figure out how to from my phone

It is coming from the water pump. There is a weep hole in that spot.
You need to replace the wp. Instructions are all over this forum if you DIY and there are some great you tube videos by pmohr (his name on this site). I think it is three or four part.
If you DIY it is a pain in the butt and requires moderate skill because you can screw up and drop pieces of the tensioner into the engine (just take a gander at the forum topics now.) If not, you are probably looking at 600 or so to do the job.

Try and post a picture if you can. As MG sez most likely its the water pump which require a replacement. However, in that same general area is your thermostat housing. You might also have a leak there, hence my encouragement to post a picture of your leak. I actually had a leak at my upper hose connection to my t-stat, years of calcification on the t-stat neck lead to my leak. Cleaned up the inlet neck and leak was fixed.
