Evap?

Ok, so my car has been pulling EVAP bullsh**codes for as long as I've had the car (about 3.5 years) but have never paid mind to it because all I've ever read is that it doesn't affect anything import and to just forget about it, so that's what I did. Now my car is starting to smell like gas from gas leaking from the gas cap from extreme pressure. Like when I loosen the gas cap it sprays fumes for like 10 seconds. Well I don't know anything about EVAP stuff, but I think that's the problem. I tried searching but didn't find anything with the gas tank pressure and smell. Nothing seems to be wrong, I just feel like it's an issue that should be handled. Any help on what to look at and what to look for, or if I should just have nissan run an EVAP test on it would be very appreciated. Thanks brothers!

What are the "bullsh**" codes?

If the fumes are only when the tank is full, maybe the top sealing flange for the gas tank sending unit has cracked. There have been several posts about it, but that won't cause a check engine light.
