Should have asked that question before you put them in.... I have had those plugs so I would say I am experience.

But your sputtering problem is most likely because you dont' have all the clips done back tightly... Check, I bet one is loose.

side note.... Should have stuck with NGK though

sorry....

you may know how one gets when thier car is not running....although i have check the plug connectors and they are tight...i attempted the engine code of the ecu it has one long blink and then just keeps blinking really fast and dosent stop....How tight did you have your plugs in...i was told to use onlyu 10-13 lbs of torq... the car seems to run fine when you get on it hard but its when you ...how to say.." normally drive it" it starts kicking out....it will idle fine and when you rev it it feels like a motor mount is out...whick the they are not.....

sorry bout the holla im just ****y....

If you have an owners manual you can see what the right lbs of torque is... or there is sticky up top that will tell you. That might be right, I am not sure off the top of my head though.

I have changed my plugs out so many times though I never use a torque wrench any more. I just know how tight they are supposed to feel.

If you do have everything put back together correctly and the plugs are in to around about the right torque then you shouldn't be having this problem. However, I hate to tell you this again, but if I were you I would take them out RIGHT NOW and return them. BOSCH has a warranty on them and will take them back, just tell them that they made your car run funny. Stay with NGK's. If you want a performance plug or something go with NGK Iridiums (will have to change them out more often). Just some advice from a person that has tried MANY MANY plugs in my old 96 SE

II have +4's and my car runs fine with them. Try going over everything again. Check to make sure your all of the connectors are snug on each coil. Sometimes people put the connectors back on and don't push them all the way on. The plugs should work fine on your car.

7) Tighten the new plugs to 14 - 22 foot-pounds.

I agree to some extent... The plugs will work in his car, and he should not be having these problems.

Hmmm......I've had mine for about the same or longer and still no problems. I've been racing hard throughout last year with them too.

how much are coils hitting you for? have you had issues the whole seven months with the +4s? or just recently?

Re: Bosch Platnium 4...WTF....HELP

Had Platinum Bosch plugs last year for about 4 months. Since the day they were put in, the car often had trouble starting up...sometimes needing an extra crank. When I took them out, all the plugs were oily--not quite fouled though. In went NGK and when I went to check those after a month, they were perfect looking. Car started up beautifully too.

This might not help, but when I put new Bosch platinums in my Escort (sorry, I had to make my beater run! ), I accidentally knocked one plug while putting it in and messed up the gap. The engine ran so rough, so I took each plug out and found one plug had NO gap. Regap-ped it and it ran like a charm.

Might not help you though ....

the coils are about 50-55$ each with my nissan discount...could not get the code to isolate the bad coil so they all must go...

the last seven months were fine i guess...ever since the cold rooled in the cars running like sh*t... i have no experence with the NGK's... bought the car in 2001 and changed the plugs soon after..

The tech's at my dealership told me the bosch could through off the spark and resistance

Re: Re: bosch sucks

I have had the Bosch +4s in my car for 45K miles now with no problems. I would re-check the installation and make sure that none of the plug electrodes got smashed. I would be suspicious of the back plugs which are much harder to install...it would be easy to smash the tip during installation.

You may not be able to get an ECU code isolating the bad coil, but the dealership's Consult computer should be able to. This may be one of the few times that a dealer mechanic will save you money.

Maybe, unless you accidentally knocked the plug as you were putting it in and messed up the gap. I did that once.

Bosch Plat +4s

I installed them in my Max about 30K ago and no problems. BUT, think that I'll go back to NGKs at 100K.

Cheers

That should fix it. But if you are going to replace a coil or two, please also replace with NGK Platinum plugs. While some people here have had good results with Bosch +4's, I have not ever read an account of anyone having a problem with the stocker NGK's. Even Vincent Ciulla, the auto mechanic on About.com, says for nissans, use stock plugs, and he is a Nissan expert.
