This may be lame but i have h&r's with stock shocks. The car isn't floaty or excessively bouncy but it is very harsh over road irregularities. Will shocks just make the harsh ride worse? It seems that most people complain about bouncing and floating when they install springs but i haven't experienced either. I've only had the springs on for about 5K miles and the shocks are about 10K old. Am I due for the above mentioned problems or i just not understanding what the problem with stock shocks and springs is. Another thing, when i got my cheesy muffler shop b-pipe and free flow cat my car started sounded really buzzy, like a honda. Was it the the silencer removal or the combination of a cheap cat and muffler shop bent b-pipe? Sorry bout the long question.....feelin a little wordy right now. lates

As far as shocks, I can tell you that my ride with H&R/Tokico was much less harsh than with worn-out stock struts and springs. Then I got 17's, and it's back to being a little harsh again. A lot of that is the terrible roads here though.

thanks for the response

Not sure where you're from but we have some pretty crappy roads here in cali too. just wondering, people say tokikos get soft after a little bit. Do you think that's why you think the ride smoothed out with the tok's? Also, do you feel that the tok's are out performing the stockers?. Thanks

I only have about 6k on the Tok's, and so far they are holding up pretty well. Definitely better than stock. I abuse the crap out of them too: I tow 3 motorcycles on occasion and they've seen a lot of dirt roads. When they wear out, I'm going to replace them with KYB AGXs or Konis, because the Tokicos are not as stiff as I would like. But the ride got smoother as soon as I put them on.

BTW, I'm in UT (but not from here) and I've driven all over Cali and I can tell you the roads here are MUCH worse.

ha...I have 63k on my stock struts with H&R for past 30k

Its fine. Doesn't bounce...a bit harsh, but not worth it to me to spend 400 on new struts when it rides fine for me. Sometimes I think people here get a bit carried away and make the situation out to be more than it is. I respect their opinions and am thankful for their advise..but you have to take it with a grain of salt!
