Call me paranoid but I am so spooked by every little different thing in my car now that I think that something may be wrong when it seems different.

Ok I got the ECM replaced today....I could have SWORN that when I first started my car with the old ECM that it idled at 1500 rpm and stayed there at least until I put it in Reverse to back out.(Usually 15 seconds)

Today when I went out started the car it idled at 1500 for about 1 sec...bounced down to 1000 rpm and then seemed to bounce down to around 600-700 rpm where it stayed before I backed out. The tach actually "bounced" on its way down.....weird.

So am I nuts and getting delusional about this car or should I call my dealer up and say WAAAASSSSSUPPPPP??? with my flippin car?

Turns out replacing the ECM was not needed whatsoever as it had nothing to do with my engine mounts chirping....think I should ask to have old ECM put back?

I'll be starting it cold in the morning and its supposed to be chilly...I guess I see if it happens then.

Normal or prob?

btw where is the ECM placed? Behind the radio where the TCM is? Hard to replace?

it idles a lil' high right after start up, so the car could warm up. idling below 1000 is normal. my car idles arond 6-700 hundred. most cars do infact. just watch.. start your car up when it's cold. then the rpm's will slowly decrease as your car heats up.

same thing...

mine bounces down sometime. also, your new ECU will take some time to get used to you and its new home... usually 150 miles or so.

Get used to me?

What if it doesn't like me?

Seriously......what does it do? Does it go like "Whoa where the heck am I? This isn't Kansas anymore ) Check out how everything operates on the vehicle, make the appropriate adjustments and so on?

well, when i got the new TCM, they

reset the ECU and my car was totally different for a few miles, I thought it was pretty spry. The SM said "we reset the ECU, its going to take alittle while for its adaptive blah blah blah to adjust to what youre used to" I was like "huh?" He said "if it idles running after driving it hard, dont worry.. if it still does funny things after 100 miles then call us."
