Cruise control lights too bright !
Does anyone have a suggestion for decreasing the light intensity from both the cruise control on/off switch and the cruise enabled light on the dash?
They're way too bright for me at night (Yeah I'm gettin' old).
I know that I could take apart the dash & wire in a series resistor or two series diodes to drop the voltage to the bulbs, but...
If I had the harness color codes, I could avoid modifying the dash iteslf, and just modify the harness.
Thanks in advance!

My Haynes manual says for 96 to 99 max, the ASCD "ON" indicator wires are BLACK (ground) and GREEN/WHITE (goes to ASCD control unit). This is the one in the gauge area.
The bulb in the ASCD main switch on left side of steering wheel has two wires, one RED/YELLOW, and another RED/BLUE, the same color as many other lights such as ashtray, hazard switch, glove box, audio and CD player, etc. because those light bulbs are all in parallel.
The confusing thing is those light all go through "illumination control switch" that I think is the dim switch. However I never see the green light on the ASCD main switch dims...

You know, I think the switch itself has a 'back-light' which is on the dimmer ckt. If it does (it would make sense to), it would allow you to find the switch when driving at night.
The green 'ON' bulb must be wired seperately.
If I get the time, I'll pull the switch this weekend.
Thanks!
Paul
