97 max, Doing the power steering pressure hose job...

Hi fellas,

I am doing the power steering pressure hose replacement this weekend. I just ordered the OEM hose 49720-40U10, but I was expecting it to arrive with a sensor. It didn't arrive with a sensor.

Do I need to replace this sensor while replacing the hose when doing this job? Is there supposed to be a sensor with the pressure hose kit?

A few threads mention the price of the OEM pressure hose is high because it comes with the sensor. I have a 97 maxima.

You don't need to replace the sensor, just use the one from your old hose. I recently replaced the same hose on my brothers 5th gen, he paid 138$ for the hose and it did not come with the sensor. He called car-quest (where he bought the hose) and they said it was 75$ for the sensor. We simply applied a little heat to the housing where the sensor was on the old hose, got it out, and installed the old sensor in the new hose. He hasn't had any problems with it.
