96 Maximum Rear Brake Issue

Hi, I replaced the rear rotors, pads and one seized caliper that was on the passenger side. Everything worked fine for a couple of days and then the side with the new caliper locked up and won't release. I thought maybe the new caliper (rebuilt) went bad. I removed the new caliper, got another one (rebuilt from autozone) and that one initially worked but now that wheel locks up also. Any ideas about what is going on?

Thanks!

Maybe contaminants in brake fluid?

I would find another source for a rebuilt caliper.

Check the parking brake cable attached onto the caliper's lever. They freeze often in the winter.

Did you clean and lube the pins it slides on?

Did you verify this by disconnecting your E-brake cable from the caliper? These e-brake cable are known for fooling alot of people....if your brake slides thru it's housing easily then it's your caliper if the e-brake cable doesn't move there you go.....Have someone move the ebrake handle as you watch it at the rear brake location with it off the caliper!

Thanks

Thanks for responding. I lubed cleaned and lubed the pins. The e-brake cable works fine. I read somewhere that it might be the flex hose. When they get old they sometime collapse inside acting like a check valve preventing the caliper piston from releasing. It's $25 bucks so I'm trying that next.
Thanks.
