Did I cause any damage? Drained coolent and blow air threw the lines

I am doing the 20 hour cylinder head job.
95 Maxima 3.0

The night before I started the repair
I drained the coolant
removed the upper and lower radiator hoses
and blew shop air from the top to the bottom
I did not use the drain plugs on the engine,

Did I cause any damage?
if the car sat outside for 2 days
with the temps in the teens 10-20 degrees

Thanks

So you're concerned that an "empty" and frozen block may have damaged something?

Or are you concerned that damage may have been caused by blowing the block empty?

Agreed ... no issues.

Just be sure to at least add water before start up.

no damage done. when you remove the heads, theres always going to be a bit of coolant still laying around

the only way you could have caused damage is by putting straight plain water in the engine and letting it freeze, youre up **** creek then

Thanks chrome91

The liquid in the engine was straight water
no antifreeze

but what you are saying
since it was not full to the top
and only had pockets here and there I should be OK

I know if it was topped off
with no room
I would have been in big trouble

full to the top you can blow out the frost plugs and do alot of damage. a bit of water most likely didnt do damage, but never let straight water sit in the engine like that
