Tanabe Exhaust

first off, search is not my friend, no definative info available.

me thinks i want a tanabe exhaust. I have heard that they produce hp gains greater than the GReddy systems. I also know that they dont make an application for the max, i would get the muffler and bring it to my exhaust guy. Does anyone have any experience with a tanabe on their MAX???

oh yeah, ricey comments are not needed, i'm looking for strait up hp gains and heard that tanabe was they way to go.

Hey who needs a cat or b pipe or muffler??? Just get a custom pipe made from y pipe to side of car. Hey you'll lose low end but gain alot on the high end and if you get some N02 even better. Noise, hey thats all relative..

custom

what if i were to buy one, say for the 300ZX and brought it to my exhaust guy, he could weld on new mounts and new b-pipe. This sounds do-able to me, but i'm just a newbie

I have the tanabe racing medalion on my toyota supra turbo and it's the bomb. Loud as **** and does not sound like one of those ricers. But in all honesty, that's all the muffler does. Sure, gives you a few hp gains maybe let's say 5-7hp but can you really feel it. I don't think so. The biggest difference in hp gains was when I bought the downpipe for the supra which would be comparable to the y-pipe for the max. I believe this would be the consensus of the max forum. The biggest gain is from the Y-pipe. Being loud for a sports car is good but for a 4-door sedan, it would be quite annoying. Well, just my 2 cents.

I've driven a GS300 with tanabe Hyper medallion. The sound is great!!
it is loud at the beginning but not a ricey loud. I just love the sound , so smooth, and on freeway you can't barely hear it unless you step hard on the gas pedal. And looks good with that big oval can.
