they look similar. I mine as well get an "upgraded one" I wouldn't mind if I am paying $50 bucks since everyone knockoff one is $100+ at all the autostores.

its pissing out on the top plastic thing, my uncle said, I should just sand it down and appox it, but its right on a square looking thing so it would be hard I think.

My .02 - I don't think the gamble on a used Rad. is worth the savings. Even if you're looking for a up grade, might be worth the price for something N.I.B.

If you go to the Pull-a-Part website and search for our car, it will then give you an option to see what other vehicles you can get the part from. Even if you aren't going to Pull-a-Part, it's a useful tool.

After further investigation, it seems to give you an incomplete list. If you go into a Pull-a-Part they give you a much more complete list.

5th gens will fit, however the fan shroud mounting points are shaped differently and they use a different upper hose.

However, all the $100 + knock-off ones at all the auto parts stores provide a Limited Lifetime Warranty ... meaning, it fails you get a new one.

When that 17 year old "upgrade" fails in 7 months take it back to the salvage yard and see what you get.

BTW. I've got one of the warranteed parts store units in my car now. It's been in there for about 9 years now.

S1cTech, many of our vendors offer more competitive prices than what is listed on our website! I would suggest checking if any forum vendors have this radiator available!

Thanks,

I bought the Koyorad last summer. It cost about 106 bucks with shipping. It appeared well-made and is a dual-core.

I new radiator will out-last a factory one that is 15 year old.

I do not want to do the same job twice. Granted, installing the radiator is not too hard, but still.....

The most you might save with a used radiator is fifty bucks. Next summer might mean care-free driving with the A/C on, or it could mean being stranded at the top of a mountain pass when it is 95 degrees. Your choice........

I want to say someone on here (maybe The Wizard) installed one of these bad boys.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/DUAL-CORE-BOLT-ON-RACING-2-ROW-ALUMINUM-RADIATOR-JDM-95-99-NISSAN-MAXIMA-VQ30DE-/171231888687?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3AMaxima&hash=item27de37452f&vxp=mtr

Edit: yup I'm 99% sure it was The Wizard with an eBay aluminum radiator

Ouch I know the feeling. Maybe you can find a newer replacement Radiator at the wrecking yard. Look for one without a Nissan stamp.

Yes, I have an aluminum radiator, but it's not that one. Mine is a Griffin radiator, made in the good ol' USA for those that care. It's extremely thick and dual core. On the bottom of the radiator, there were 3 or 4 inspection stamps for quality control... Red stamp with 'Inspected by John'...Green stamp with 'Inspected by Gary' etc etc.

The one Schmelly linked is my daily driver Max and that radiator has been in there about 2 years now. No issues. On my Track Max, the previous owner installed a Griffin radiator and saw very noticeable temp drops as was able to track the Max for hours on end without overheating. That radiator has been in there for about 5 or 6 years I believe, no issues. And lastly, there's a Griffin radiator in my Black Max. No issues and has been in the car for 5 or 6 years as well.

It's a great radiator if you have the coin for it. Also, keep in mind that you'll have to add your own transmission cooler if you're Auto should you go this route, or any aluminum radiator I believe (not 100% sure on that one).

S1cTech, if you're strapped for cash, you may want to consider an Ebay one for now (see link). It should last at least a year or two, then you can get the a nice aluminum one down the road when you have the money.

What I meant is find one that is not a factory nissan radiator, then you will know it is a more recent replacement and less than 17 years old.

good all-metal ones are a few hundred bucks. as said if money is tight theres nothing wrong with rocking a junkyard one for a year and then getting an all-metal one

Car is too old and not worth it for me to get an all metal one. Honestly, kinda stupid they are made part plastic in the first place. Makes no sense.

Not really, the plastic tanks are cheaper and easier to manufacture and assemble onto the core.

all metal ones last way longer though, back in the day they were standard on most cars. all of my old cars have had the factory all-metal rad still with no problems. the plastic ones naturally start getting hairline cracks on the plastic over the years

That linked is just a Koyo/Mish knock-off. I dont take chances with the things that can strand me. I have a Mishimoto rad with their silicone hoses. They have a warranty that even in the case of an accident that is your fault, full replacement. I think the Griffin's are good but a rip. Same exact thing as Koyo/Mish but $100 more? I got my mish through the vendor on here for $274 I believe and the hoses for $40.

Back in the day all metal brass and copper radiator were the norm..... That Griffin is a beast and the One I would shoot for even over Mishimoto! The last Mishimoto rad I was shown looked nice but the installation was shabby....Which I don't understand!!!!! Why would you spend that kind of money on something then Halfass install it????? It's crazy to me....

I don't know what your age, education or experience (actually getting paid to do quality work in a shop is, but I guaranty its not up to my level. I don't care what you saw in auto shop last year.
How many years did you have in a dealer ship garage, trade school, auto shop, and a radiator shop?
