But I'm gonna get nailed on of these days....
And my engine would probably last longer if I didn't floor it everywhere..not to mention the gas milage.

I speed everytime I drive but I usually go 5 over the limit, 10 if I'm in a hurry. So for the most part, I'm a law abiding citizen. I do take some spirited drives sometimes though when a good song comes on.

My friends who drive my 95 Maxima understand why it is so hard to follow the speed limit in this car. My neighbour actually got rid of his Maxima and went and bought a Solara because he was getting too many tickets with the Maxima.
I remember a trip from southern illinois to chicago.(I had just read the rave review in motor trend about the Maxima and one piece of information that caught my eye was the max speed limit of 136 miles/hr).It was 225 miles on Interstate 55 and it was a very short and exciting trip!
What was I thinking

I think that when it comes to speed its like watching gruesome horror movies...you slowly get desensitized...since i've been driving for a meager 3 years i can totally follow the timeline of what i thought was "fast"...first it was 65...moved to 75 when my dad got his new car...then 80 was fast when i first got my Max...now...on stretches of road i know very well...it doesn't phase me to drive over 100 consistanly...its kinda disturbing that i'm not scared or bothered by it cause i know that's a set up for something bad to happen...i'm always getting yelled at by friends (usually girls) that i'm nuts...i have to tame myself down or just by statisics something bad's gonna happen

There's this one road by me that no matter what time of day it is, its usually empty and I've never seen a cop near it in 10 years. Its about a 1/2 mile long, so I get the Max up to about 110 daily on it. Makes the commute home that much faster for me. I could go faster, but for some reason I get tense at 110. Maybe if I had better tires I'd feel better. Hmmm

I like to think of it as my driving speed is based on driving conditions, I don't over drive the car in the sense that if it is wet and crowded, I'm not going to drive fast. Know your limitations and the limitations of the car.
The only time I will Never go over posted limits (aside from speed traps) Never is in a school zone or neighborhoods where there are small children playing. I hope everyone who reads this will do the same.
Always speed up when I see birds in the middle of the road.
(especially seagulls, long story involving TMS Jr.)

Its a maxima thing. The car "yurns" to be driven hard. Especially if you have an automatic, its just to sluggish through the gears so I usually end up flooring it through the first gear so i can jump past 2500rpm.
Too bad it EATS gas that way.

i duno, i got this vision disorder, whatever the posted speed limit says, goes through my eyes but registers whatever i saw plus 10, if the speed limit was 35, by the time word reaches my foot im already at 45, then im thinkin hmmm, ur allowed to go about 7 over the speed limit, so then im at 52, next thing i know im at 100, and by then i usually just pass out, whewww.....

I'm pretty much what the some cops refer to as a "professional speeder". I use a V-1 (unless I'm only going a couple of blocks to the grocery store) and a Bearcat police frequency scanner when driving the highways. Heck, 15 yrs without a ticket and a license for 38 yrs without a single accident.
La Jolla Max referred to the speed limits as "speed suggestions". Except for school zones where I follow the "speed suggestions", I believe the "suggestions" are too low for many roads in dry weather.
But what can we expect when speed limits are set by revenue greedy politicians and not traffic engineers?

do i speed?! does a cat have a pink a**hole?!!
i am always clickin' when i'm not driving, so i get almost no sleep. naturally, i have screwed up sleep patterns and always wake up late for work. i have an 18 mile journey each morning, and i usually allow myself about 12 minutes to do it in, so i HAVE to haul **** to be on time. i usually average between 85-105 on the way to work. it's become habbit to go waaaayyyyyyyyy too fast, so i drive like hell everywhere. i'm not a bad driver by any means, but i do drive to get where i'm going.
also, the maximas around tupelo ms where i live don't really draw too much attention. not alot of people here with modded nissans, so the cops just assume i'm one of the car salesmen or something. i haven't been pulled over once since i got rid of the TA and got my max!! (fortunately
) i don't really know how they miss the wing, though...lmao
