Wiper Transmission Slip

I have this problem with my Maxima that everything time i fix the transmission linkage, it keeps slipping off, and I can't seem to remove the whole thing because it as 3 screw in the middle section, the screws keep turning, and I can't get anything on the under side to hold it so it won't spin, does anyone have a fix to this, i was thinking of drilling a hole down throw the only thing, and fit a long screw down to the bottom, and bolt it so it's still able to move, but it will all stay in place with the long screw with the bolt, do you think this idea will work?... any ideas?

I can get you replacement linkage piece by piece if you just need a better universal snap on arm between one or both of the 2 pivots. or the entire assembly, but like you say, removing the whole thing can create monster problems.
