Hey Org members, I just bought a 99 i30, justin's old i30... I would like for all who knows about this car to fill me in on the history... Right now the trans Is stuck in first, Is it a simple fix or time for a new trans?

 

sounds like time to either rebuild the transmission or replace it. This happened twice On my 90 Mazda mx-6 gt. Turns out both times the differential gears shattered and a peice of it would lodge into one of the shifting forks effectively jamming it.

 

how many miles? sounds like you need a new tranny. Good thing is you can pick a good used one for under $300 and swap it out yourself in about a day.

 

He claims the car has 140k but the cluster has been sold, he also said the trans was rebuilt about 20k ago... He said he hit a bump and it got stuck in first... Claims a simple fix. Idk

 

If anyone has a good 5spd trans, pm me...Thanks... Also he sold the fpr and afc computer, will I need these items to run right. It's a 99 I30 with a 00 motor, Dnt know what ecu,

 

I'm looking to get all info about the car concerning the swap, mileage etc., and anything that can be useful... I'm looking to start a club in my area this Spring! Anyone in my area down?

 

Not sure how a bump could do that, unless he bottomed out really hard and bent the shifter linakage, in which case the fix is much better than rebuilding or swapping a transmission.

 

I just recently found a 2000 with the vq30 at a tow yard, let me know what you need and ill go pick it for you when I go to buy those sexy rims. His prices are really fair, im paying $80 for the authentic nissan aluminum rims in great condition. Only downside is that I'm in Canada, so shipping might be a small amount more than when buying within the USA. Let me know.

Ok guys after looking at the plug and reading on I30dvr's old threads I believe I need a z32 maf, but I'm not sure? I really want to get it up and running but at the same thing want it done right! Also do I need a fpr and afrc back on the car, I purchased it without these parts. Appreciate all the help!

Yes. I tried it once, and it was a bear to drive. Even Popeye would struggle. Put it back on.
