Exhaust ???????????

These are some mods that I am debating on:
CAI from Warpspeed
Y-pipe from Warpspeed

Question is : Are there any other items that I will have to modify in the exhaust system to benefit 100% from these mods.

to complete it you need a catback but you can just get the b-pipes and keep the stock muffler.

Nope its the exhaust that starts at the back of the cat and goes all the way to the rear of the car and includes a muffler
I have a greddy catback and it sounds really good .. a nice deep tone

I was told that greddy has a lot of drone to it with a a y pipe and intake... I would think twice about it. talk to greg at custommaxima.com about the new cat back system that coming out in a week or so for the maxima... its made specifically for the maxima, so it should have better performance and tones.

the only people that complain about the greddy are the ones who don't have it. It is specifically designed for your car and the sound can't be matched. A great mod for the car.

Greddy is great of course, I've heard 3 different maxi's with the greddy cat-back, and y-pipe, both sounded good, but for 600+ dolalrs, 5hp isnt worth that much. And I'm sure warpspeeds unit is going to be more reasonably priced, therefore will appeal to more ppl. just my 0.02

greddy is fitted for the maxima it wasnb't tuned for the maxima. The only people who I've heard complain about the greddy are the people selling there units because of the drone.

Will I be fine with just a CAI and a Y-pipe and the rest(from the Y-pipe on back)staying stock?

If you only want performance then get the CAI and Y-pipe and forget the rest. you will see good gains from those two mods and the cat + catback won't give you much except for looks and a louder sound. Start with the two mods you listed and then decide later if you want the rest of the exhaust, it won't cost you anything to wait on the rest of the system.

Excellent suggestion---I concur.

Ask Taimishu what he thought about his greddy.

if u get teh cai and the y pipe we are talking about 30-40HP in gains right there......if you want to make the exhaust more freeflowing you can get a new bpipe. cai+ypipe+bpipe=nice noise
cai+ypipe+catback = loud .......but the loud noise is definitely not ricey

changing the muffler will give u a 1 or 2 HP gain tops

No CAI and Y-yipe will give yo about 20 hp gain

Some say the Y-Pipe/Greddy combo is way to annoying of a drone...Me personally when I get my Cat-back and Y-pipe I am gonna go Cattman/Apex-i world sport (quietest Cat-back) (do a search you will find alot)cause I have heard its a great combination...

Greddy and Y = cant even hear the person talk even when shes sitting next to you, and cant hear the radio...A guy took his greddy off the day he got it cause of the drone, it may be good without y-pipe but with ive heard is bad
flame on...Thats what Ive heard

Stainless will last longer than aluminized. Keep in mind that your car came with aluminized, it is lighter (not by much), who's looking at the underside of your car.

If you are going to show your car on NIRA, get stainless, if you are going to race your car get aluminized. There are tons of 89-92 Maximas with their stock y pipes on their cars that haven't rusted through. I believe that WSP has a no rust through warranty of 4-5 years.
