did you clean your egr tube? it's simple really. and most likely that's not the reason why your car stalls out. egr wil do anything to that affect. are you sure it's egr code? and do you have any other codes? more details are needed so we can help.

Sounds like what would happen if the throttle position sensor goes bad.
The computer would not know you pushed the gas pedal. So it falls on its face.

The cars that had carburetors had this symptom when the accelerator pump would not spray in extra fuel.

The surge would be the computer realizing that your foot is on the gas.
I imagine that when the car fall on its face, you would step on the gas. Then when the computer learns you did, the car will surge.

Drive with the throttle position sensor disconnected, see if it acts the same.

change the fuel filter

can be clogged or the fuel pump has no pressure and accelerates when there is not enough fuel

p1400 EGR-C

..have you tried replacing the egr solenoid?

I'm getting the error for that as well and i need to replace. What happened one time for me was the car started bucking wildly after the error light came back on and i didnt know what was happening.

I pulled the car back in the garage and tried checking the codes with torque (code app on my phone) and it just ended up resetting the ecu.

It ran fine after that. I know the light is back now and the solenoid still needs replacing. Just havent been home to fix it. ...miss my car so much.

i dont think it looked like a difficult replacement. I know they are kind of pricey at the parts house - i was simply going to grab a couple at the yard and see which got the light to stay off.

If it is running exactly the same if the TPS is plugged in or not, the TPS most likely has a problem.
