Air Intake Temperature Sensor Problem, please help

hello, first time posting here. Ill start from the top. just bought an aftermarket ram air intake for my 99 maxima se 5 speed. everything went smoothly and seems to be connected right. theres a little rubber fitting on the intake pipe which i assumed is where the AIT is supposed to be plugged in. Turned on my car and the CEL is on and reads theres something faulty with the AIT sensor. not sure whats going on the sensor was fine before i put on the intake. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks guys

Perhaps a silly Q but did you reinsert the sensor into the new intake tube?

If so, is the airflow to the sensor at all restricted?

One of prime causes of an IAT related DTC is that the sensor has been moved/shifted out of the flow of intake air.

Also, unplug and re-plug the sensor's e-connector at least 3 times to ensure it's not a simple connection issue.

Nice photo, but where is the air intake temperature sensor that goes in that opening? Did you leave it in the old air filter box? You have to transfer it over.

Find a good used sensor and see if that clears the CEL or buy a new one. Looks like they are about $30.

How to test your AIT sensor

Make sure you attach the plug on thd sensor- press it fully in.
That was probably your problem
If you wanted to test your sensor-

Fill a pot full of ice water.
Put only the tip of the sensor. And with an ohm meter measure resistance across the 2 terminals.
Write down the resistance.

Fill a pot or cup of full of hot water.
Put only the tip of the sensor. And with an ohm meter measure resistance across the 2 terminals.
Write down the resistance.
If resistance changes from 500 ohms- 2000 ohms,

Your sensor is working properly,
