Climate control on 97
I know this has been asked on other threads but I could not find an answer to my specific question.
I have a 97 SE with Climate control. The LCD has letters AMB. I also have the temp sensor on the radiator pillar. Does that mean I can or cannot get the AMB temp?
I know for sure that the 98-99 can do this (98 with a mod) Could I use a 98-99 climate control unit then? If I happened to find one at a junkyard, I might pick it up. I like this feature
Lastly, is there a way to change display from reading Fahrenheit to reading Celsius? hehe...can't get with this Fahrenheit thing!

I checked the haynes manual circuit diagram. Apart from the mode door differences requiring a change for mode motor control (i.e. internal and external, foot, face....) there are lines to ECU and A/C compressor...I don't think I'll want to mess with this too much!

changing F to C
Just posted this to another thread.........
Figured there should be a way to change the readout on the auto heater/ac temmperature unit. I checked the owners manual and the shop manual. Best I can research the USA model Max is in F and the Canada model is C. Can't find a procedure described to change the readout. There probably is a way to make the change but I can't find a reference on the procedure.

Thanks for trying. I looked in the repair manual (Haynes) It seems that the 98-99 versions have a wire that say (Canadian models only). I think it is green or black (I'd have to look again). I guess this is the one for deg C or deg F. I don't think there should be any other diffs between the Canadian and US models.

I stripped out my climate control down to the PCB layer and did not see any extra buttons. The ASIC (IC) used by nissan is a NEC 162626G. Does anyone happen to know what the 98-99 uses?....I doubt it but it's worth asking!
