aftermarket bucket seats

Hey. I had a question for everyone. I've got a 96 Max SE. I've done a little suspension work and am going to do new shocks and struts too. The problem is that while the car will be planted well on the road, I don't think I will. Already through turns, I notice I slide a little in my seats. I drove my friends Jetta VR6 last night and his suspension is comparable but that car has NICE bucket seats (stock) that hug the driver and keeps him/her from going anywhere when approaching turns quickly. I was going to put leather in my car, but now I want to know if anyone knows of bucket seats that would fit in our car. Then I can wrap those and the rest of the car with leather. Any info you have is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: aftermarket bucket seats

I think the seats from Honda Prelude will fit. I know JC has them.

yeah the stock seats could support a lot better, but if you are sitting in the correct position and have you hands in the correct place on the wheel then you can hold yourself in place through the hardest of turns... it also helps me to have the wheel set to the lowest position.

Do you have leather?

I agree with theblue, put your steering wheel in the lowest possible position, hold it correctly, and sit up (lot like the ricers) and you should be fine.

I must admit that Acura CL-S has very nice sport seats.

Ok. I'll try that out first. Thanks everyone. I still have cloth Cyrus. But I am putting in black leather this spring/summer.

Prepare to slide 10x more...

If you're going to take the seats out to install leather, why not do a seat transplant? Something like black Prelude seats are not hard to find and should be much better than our seats.

I would guess the mounting brackets for the seats into the floor won't match up with my factory holes, will they?
Also, my driver's side seat is electric (passenger is manual). If I put the Prelude seats in, I will lose that electric power on the driver's side, right? Or can that be transferred? If not, it's no big deal. I figure the less gadgets I have, the less that can break down later in the car's life.

No, but you can get brackets drilled and it is very inexpensive.

Yes, power can be transferred, but I would assumer its more trouble than its worth. But to be honest I'm not sure, you would have to ask some of the people who have some it.
