Need help with odd combination of problems
Hi all, hopefully someone can help. I've got a 97 and it is giving me an odd combination of things going bad. They day before it starting going haywire everything was fine, no problems at all.
The next day i hop in and everything seems fine until a little bit down the road the power steering went out, battery and brake light came on, and it starts to miss and wheels shake at about 45 - 50 mph.
I've got codes P0400 (EGR), P0325 (Knock sensor), and 2 codes showing P1335 which i read is the crankshaft position sensor.
The egr and knock sensor code have been on for a while but the two 1335's are new and i assume having something to do with the problem.
So my question is, can a crankshaft sensor cause problems with the power steering? I seen that the battery and brake light mean alt problems but why would that throw a 1335 code?
Anyone else had these problems? Thanks in advance for the help.

Sounds like you experienced a stall or near stall which is why your power steering stopped and the warning lights came on.
Start by replacing the crank sensor. There are 2 sensors, make sure you get the correct one.

The front CKPS harness wire is near the PS and main belt that runs the alternator. Check to see if a broken belt could have knocked the front CKPS plug loose or damaged the harness wire.
