PLZ EXPLAIN: Be sure to erase the malf info such as DTC not only in TCM but also ECM

I have a DTC 0804.

I read the nice write-up on the trouble code in the ECU section of this forum and appreciate the guidance.

I, however, did not understand the following statement: "Be sure to erase the malfunction information such as DTC not only in TCM but also ECM after the A/T related repair."

I believe I know how to reset the Engine Control Module by turning the ECM dial clockwise, then counterclockwise twice. Where is the TCM and what do I need to do to reset it and/or erase the malfunction information?
