thats actually a good question. the seating configuration and the overall body structure is generally the same so i would assume it would fit.

Yeah thats what I was thinking. Floor mats seem to be pretty close to the same as well. Anyone else know from experience?

How much money are you trying to spend? It might be worthwhile to get a new aftermarket carpet&cut to fit vs 5th gen&mod to fit.

I have 5th gen rear mats and they fit OK actually. I don't think it will work out perfectly, but it may be close enough for you.

I agree about wanting things to fit correctly, and I would only want the carpet if it fit correctly. And this thread was about the entire carpet fitting in, not the floor mats.

Thanks,
Matt

I knew you meant the whole carpet. I was just stating that the floor, at least in the rear, are similar.

Technically, the simple answer is no. The 5th gen is a bigger, differently shaped (like the doors for example,) body. With some not so major modifications, however, you should be able to get it to fit.

If you want a perfect fit, have you exhausted all possibilities of all the 4th gens out there in the junkyards? Goto car-part.com and look for 95-99 Maximas or 96-99 I30s. I30s tend to be beat upon less, so I would look there first. They are a much smaller selection, though. There should be alot of 95-99 Maxima stuff to choose from however.
