different rotor between 4/1999 maxima and 2/1999 maxima

So I purchased front rotors and pads hastily on ebay without reading and noticed its made for vehicles manufactured after April 99. But my car was dated Feb 1999

http://www.ebay.com/itm/291088868872...84.m1497.l2648

What is the main difference? Is it rotors or brake pad difference?

This was the one I should of bought

Fourth gen production stopped after 4/99 and 5th gen started. You purchased 5th gen (2000) components.

There's a guy on here who actually put 5th gen front rotors on his 4th gen. IIRC the 5th gen rotor is thicker but not taller. So it would be a nice upgrade from the OEM 4th gen size.

If I was you gladiator, I would try the rotors to make them fit. Not the pads though.

5th gens rotors are a crap design that warp. Iirc that's why the 6th gen BBK is recommended over the 5th gen.

Edit: maybe it's he 5.5 gen that sucked...

I have the 00-01 setup. Its the same diameter as a 4th gen but it is thicker. You need to swap the caliper and torque member to match the rotor and drill the knuckle for the larger bolts. Unless you got the parts for cheap it is not worth doing. I I got everything for free so it only cost me time.

ah thanks, seems like I bought the wrong parts then

dunno why they listed as 99 Maxima if the 4th gen ended production.

I'll initiate an exchange

I've had part stores give me a 5th gen IACV for a 99 model because the catalog was wrong.
