Spoiler Removal???

My 97 Maxima spoiler is broke at the attaching points on the passenger side. It flops up and down as Im driving and drive me crazy. How do i remove it? Can it be removed and left off or will water get in the trunk?

Unbolt it from under the trunk lid.
Yes, water will get in unless you plug the holes.

Have you looked into fixing it? You could probably buy a cheap one from a junk yard and use it as replacement.

As NJ stated it needs to be unbolted from under the trunk lid. Unclip the trunk lining first. Unclip the the brake light connector. Loosen the inner pedestals' bolts. The outer pedestals are clipped into grommets and just need to be popped off.

Either install another spoiler or seal up those holes.
