Missing part under throttle body?

These two pix are a 1999 max v6 under the throttle body. A small vacuum line 1 inch long hangs down- is a part missing or should this line be capped or connected to something??

That's not a vacuum line its a coolant line and you should see the same thing right under the throttle cable part of of the throttle body (TB). You should see another connection point on the coolant lines very close to the TB. The previous owner may have performed the TB coolant bypass, if so just cap them to keep debris out for good measure.

Thanks, its a really small hose, not the size of the other hoses that look like coolant.
no previous owner, factory stock
could I email you the pix?

Has never meant so much. I'd like to help but there are far too many hoses to guess.

its just one hose under the intake of the throttle body, hose in 1 inch long points straight down, and is open on the bottom

It sounds like the transmission breather hose. Do a search on here. There are pictures of it. I'm guessing that is it but a picture will tell.

I know what you are talking about and mine has the same thing. It's neither a coolant or vacuum hose. Mine is actually a 1 inch long rubber cap or something. I thought I was missing a hose there as well so I took that rubber piece off and it is solid in the middle and nothing can pass through, not sure what it is there for but seems to be some sort of cap.

Mine is a 99 as well btw so maybe it is only a 99 thing?

It's the little black hose looking thing sticking straight down
