Chip Key

Since I could get this I thought I'd share it. It's just for fun, but I think it's cool. Obviously we know the key (from a 99 Maxima) has a chip in it. Also note the quality differential on the aftermarket flea-bay key. The OEM key is a solid plate with the plastic over it, the aftermarket the only metal is the key shaft. Non-destructive testing.
These x-rays actually show the chip. Which I found a guy who will program for $55. Stealership said $130.

+3 - I've gotten 3 from Ace. Two for the 99 Maxima and one for the 99 I30 for roughly the same price. They dip the old key and reprogram the new one.

Do they plug into the car? I'm totally in for that deal.

Where they make keys they have a key reader/writer device.

They stick your old key in the duplication device to read the information from your old key -- then they insert the new key to program it while you watch.
