question about crank shaft sensor
question about crank shaft sensor
Hi car is a 98 and I have had it for a year now. I have replaced a few thing just because the car is 16 years old. I want to inspect, test and clean the crank sensor.. not that its giving me problems.
Can someone point me to the correct page in the FSM
Thanks

Here's a link to the FSMs. CKPS starts at Section EC Page 243

It is good to clean the sensors once in a while.
I've found the front CPKS can get covered in oil and grit. Since the rear sensor doesn't get covered in oil, the electrical contacts have a tendency to corrode. Also metal fragments from the starter gear wearing over time will collect on the rear CPKS magnet.
So I'll clean mine when I do maintenance in the area that exposes the sensor without making it a special maintenance project.

^That's correct.
OP, there's no need to hunt for it. It's clearly spelled out in the EC section Table of Contents where to find the CKPS.
Additionally, don't forget about the Index, section IDX, where you can quickly look something up.
