Projector H1 light output

I had HIDs in stock housings. I loved the light output, however would blind other drivers due to glare. So I went to theretrofitsource.com and ordered me some mh1 projectors. The install wasn't difficult at all and they look great, however the light output isn't as bright as I thought it would be. I had 8k 35w initially, then took those out and put in 6k 55w. The 8k 35w i had in the stock housings were brighter than the 6k 55w in the projectors. I've read all the other retrofit threads and I'm trying to figure out if there was a step I missed in the whole process.

Judging light output, are you looking at your headlights or are you looking at the light projected onto the roadway? And with that said, are they adjusted correctly?
Picture of them pointing at a wall from 20 or 30 feet away?

I'm looking at the actual light projected on the road. The light angle has also been adjusted. I'll have to take a pic and put it in my profile pics, I can't post attachments yet.

Make sure your bulbs are seated correctly.

This is my brother's output in his 4th gen that I did up. MH1 6.0 with 6000K bulbs and 55W ballasts:

He has no issues and sees the road very well.

Bulbs are Morimoto 3Fives. Ballasts are DDM.

If your bulbs are seated incorrectly, brand doesn't matter. Post output shots.

I took a look at the bulbs again and they're seated in the projectors properly. I'll take some output pics tonight
