Rear input shaft bearing - new bearing problem.
Rear input shaft bearing - new bearing problem.
So my kit of bearings arrived for my 5 speed transmission , I could not find the rear bearing by itself so I ordered a whole kit , and my new 28bc08s1 bearing in the rear of the input shaft , wiggles 3-4x worse than the one that was in my transmission.... I am leary about putting this back in my transmission the tolerances seem way out of spec and would not fix my noise problem and would possibly destroy my transmission.
Has anybody had any experience with their new bearing being looser than their old one and still put the kit on and all was fine?

Welcome to Maxima.org. We're not ignoring you. I think it take some time before someone stops by with manual transmission rebuilding experience who can help.
Some members have swapped transmissions but only a few have rebuilt a manual in the 4th gen.

I have never seen a bad replacement bearing, but it's obviously not impossible.
Rarely see that rear input shaft bearing go bad in use however, it seems like it's always the front bearing.
