Break fuel pipe leaking

The break fuel pipe going to the rear passenger tire is leaking. It seems like the area of the pipe that's clamped to the body under the fender has rusted and sprung a leak. Anybody has any ideas or suggestion as to how this can be fixed.

Thanks

Wowzers...
break->brake
fuel->fluid
pipe->line
tire->caliper

It's not advisable to repair something like that. You need to replace the part in kind. Once complete, you'll have to bleed your brakes

Unix System V Release 4 -

I can see it by clicking on this link.

As other members have indicated above, the metal brake fluid line needs to be replaced.

Are the Do It Yourself (DIY) type?

Hi CS AR, Thanks for looking and confirming that it's the metal pipe that's leaking. I also downloaded the BR manual for this model from the link you provided. I looked at it. I just don't know what's the name of this part. Is breakline what I am looking for ? What should I be ordering for replacement ? Is this metal pipe connected all the way from this side of tire to the master cylinder or is it smaller in length?

Thanks

The brake lines run from either the abs pump or proportioning valve (might be built into the master cylinder) to the bracket where the hose from the caliper is. I would not try to splice in a brake line, just replace the entire line.

Hey Unix System V Rel 4 -

Is your Maxima a 97 model?

Can you look at the diagram in the following link and check part number 46284?

http://japancars.ru/index.php?route=...d=5&blk_id=462

I called a dealer in the area who looked up the part based on my description.

I think the full Nissan part number is 46284-1L000?

I would carefully check the availability for this part.

We may have a member with a "part out" going who can sell you a used part in the classified section.

Are you in Bergen County NJ? I could be wrong though.

If he has a 97-99 then the PN is 46284-1L000 for that right rear brake line. If it's a 95-96 then the PN is 46284-40U00. They only cost $20 + S/H. If the S/H is too high then call your local dealship for a pick up price or try finding a used one in the classifieds as CS stated.

This page gives all the details

What year is your MAX? Did you order the 46284-1L000 or the 46284-40U00?
