There is a TransGo kit for sale in the classifieds. Are you in or near NJ?

I'm going the shift kit way for my 5.5 auto. Getting a cooler too.

The shift kit allows the transmission to shift a lot faster and allow it to handle more abuse. The cooler will prevent the transmission fluid from getting too hot and increasing the rate of brake down internal components. The Drop resistor mod seems a bit risky for the long term health of the transmission.

There is a company in NJ that builds/modifies transmissions and sells kit for track racing named Level 10.

I have a shift kit on my i30.
And I installed a stacked trans cooler.
I took it from out of a raddilac cleaned it out.
Works really good.
The difference between the tube and stacked is during the winter the tube will never allow for the trans to warm up properly so that the t/c can lock.
The stacked plate how ever will. But also keep the trans cool enough.
Which has proven itself in the summertime.
One guy with a 3rd gen vg motor did the resistor mod. But only after the throttle was pressed oast a certain point.
It worked for him and the 3rd gen trans , it has been said, our weaker than the 4th gen trans.
