Radiator support rust

Just got the car out of the body shop, I was afraid to let them touch it because I'm very on edge about scratches or things going back to the way they were.

They did an amazing job on my fender (500$ Job) and now I'm more open to having people work on. SO now, I'm tackling any problem that looks like it could be bad.

So my radiator support underneath is rusting. The thing as a whole is perfect, it's just one section that's eaten through. Now, I know it will hold up, and I see no other rust but I really want this taken care of.

Could anyone link me to an OEM piece to replace it? I looked for a few and they all came to 80 bucks, but from the other threads I've read, you guys said they should be around 180 ish.

Also, how much should this cost to replace, and how much time do I have? I'm going to break off the rust tomorrow and throw some touch up paint on it for now.

I'm on the east coast. Could I make it to spring before this is fixed or will the rust move too fast ?

Do you need the entire front? Probably not. You want just the lower support if you are battling rust and not repairing an accident. Go to a Nissan dealer/retailer to buy a genuine part. The aftermarket "OE" stuff is not a well made and the price difference is not justifiable as some have had their "OE" part fail in months.

Here's mine:

I don't have the part number sorry.

The nissan OEM PN is 62530-40U00.

Dont waste your money on an aftermarket support. They are not as solid.

Okay, just got the part! Thanks guys.

Should this be around what? 500 bucks to repair? If I take it to a shop that does it right?

And also, this may sound a little ricey, prepare yourselves.

I've realized how bright the rust shines through when I'm looking at my car head on. I mean literally everyone can see the spot, it's hard to miss. With that being said, can I get some high temp paint for the new one and make it a subtle color to kind of pop? Like grey ?

You sure can. I don't think it would have to be high temp, but it wont hurt it. Garb some grill paint and spray it on. Be sure to clean it first.

Paint it something bright like yellow, to show it off to the world.

I only first noticed my rust and this beam after parking at an angle towards the sun.

But Tommy, why exactly do you want this beam to "pop"? I can see the engine bay - but the lower rad support under your bumper? The next level of detailing?

I went aftermarket with mine. Rusted bad at 200k, now at 235k and looks pretty good still. I agree that aftermarket quality might not be good, but the quality of install is also important, and I don't live in the Northeast anymore with its winters, road salt, etc.
