Re: water stain on my hood

I always deal with dreaded water marks - not stains, but those marks that seem to appear on the horizontal surfaces of the car. Spoiler, hood, trunk, roof, etc.

I use 3M medium grit rubbing compound with an electric, cloth buffer. Buff the $hit out of the marks. Then repeat with a regular car wax, either with the buffer or by hand. Shines like a monkey's a$$ and no more marks, for a while...

You can try using a mild rubbing compund in that area and then polish it off. In the UK we had stuff that was called T-cut great at removing stains and tar marks...not sure what you guys call it here. It's a yellow liquid (deoxidising agent) with a very mild abrasive compound. After tcut apply polish and you're done!

Windex? Sandpaper? Try a light 3M rubbing compound. Don't buy a cheap $3.00 compound they are too hard to buff out.
