my car didn't come with bose. so i didnt get the 6x9 hole. i was just wondering if it would be an easy job for myself to do.

 

I assume you have a 4th gen because you are posting here. The BOSE does not have 6x9's, it is 6.5's all the way around. Even though a 6x9 is slightly larger, it has been my experience that round speakers sound better at high volume especially. Stick with 6.5's.

 

you sure they are not 6x9? why does it have the big bose cover?

 

I am positive, I have changed my stereo out 3 times, now. I went back to my stock BOSE, and it is 6.5's.

To take the rear speakers out you have remove the rear deck by poping out all the plastic rivets from the trunk side. 6.5 are all standard and do sound way better than 6x9's . If you are going to compete is sound. Don't use rear speakers. You'll get pionts deducted for sound stage. I fiber glassed tweeters in my factory pillars. It looks factory but obviously not. Sounds awesome.
