O2 sensor and knock sensor

Hi,
I was hoping someone could tell me how hard is it to replace the Front Left Heated O2 Sensor and the Knock Sensor in a 97 Max?
I used the ECU decoder at VBmaxima and those are the codes I keep getting after driving it long distances (but only on the return trip, weird). Any help at all will be appreciated, I do not yet have a Haynes or Chiltons, but will be getting one shortly.
Thanks again
Sean

I almost always use 91+ octane, sometimes I go cheap but it will do it even if I have driven with several 91+ tanks in a row. It only does it on highway driving, never in the city

Not sure about the knock sensor. The O2 sensors are easy to replace. If I remember correctly though, the front one is harder than the rear because of all the precat stuff and support beams. I recommend a short monkey wrench for the front one. Regular wrenches are too long.

The knock sensor is hard to get unless you got fingers like Gumby.

The knock sensor is easy to replace. Its on top of the block right under the intake manifold. You can see it from the drivers side. I believe its held on with one 10mm bolt.

Mine is throught the knock and EGR valve right now. Problem is I can't find the EGR problem to fix it. A new EGR didn't help. Any Ideas?

For an O2 sensor to get a proper reading, it must first obtain a particular temperature. They heat themselves to that temperature.

Ends up being around $103, but that doesn't include shipping. I almost bought one, except that after switching to 93 octane my CEL indicating both o2 and KS hasn't come back on. If it does I'll be replacing mine as well. I have an unsupported hunch that for 95-96s switching gas will do the trick when you get the CEL for both o2 and KS...
