Like has already been said, you are going to get beaten. They can run high 14s stock with a good driver.

just race him man. who cares if you get beat. i have an auto too, i never raced a rsx-s yet, but i wouldn't back down from one. it should be a good race. you might lose, but don't sweat it because even some of these 5spd guys might lose to one too.

Whoa! Dude you need to chill a little! It all sounds the same to me too!

What's wrong with getting NOS anyway? It's a kick in the butt if nothing else! If the race were that close, it would be nice to see the look on the guy's face if you suddenly left him behind, right? It's not about winning, it's about having some fun! Hehe!

Are you racing from a stop of on the highway? I raced an rsx-s on the highway and it was close/I think I could have won I don't know what would have happened from a stop.

Ok guys, I have raced one. Here's what happened:

First time we raced from about 30 mph and I had one other person in the car who is pushing 230 or so. I was in 1st and so was he. That was my first mistake. I had no sooner pressed the gas pedal than I had to shift He pulled just barely up to 70 or so. Then we switched the passengers. This time he had my friend and I had no one. And we slowed the start down a bit too. We started from 20mph. I immediatly pulled about half a car or so. I kept it right at that, not gaining any but not losing any, until 85 or so. He was right next to me again by 90-95 and by 105 he had pulled about 1/2 a car on me.

Keep in mind that this was a BRAND new RSX Type S with only 500 miles on it. So this car was nowhere near broken in! You will lose. Especially if he has an intake and an exhaust. An intake does A LOT for that car. So if you're a very modded Max, ie. y-pipe, intake, full exhaust, etc.... and a 5spd, you MIGHT have a chance. Just my .02 cents.

Good luck with the race though. Remember, racing is supposed to be fun. Win or lose, it's fun

And also remember that it's not a win if you hurt/kill either yourself or someone else. Be safe and use common sense (PLEASE!).

Do not race this car on the highway. Most likly you will lose if you do just because these cars are awesome highway racers. They can go 145+ easy. Also the torque is much lower than the maxima but they run a mean quater mile for a stock honda/acura. It is almost the same speed as a 2001 prelude maybe a little faster.

race

well my friend has a rsx-s hes a lil rich kid and him and i raced. i also riced a regular rsx. i beat the rsx but the type s it was a tie. hes got his stock and i got a 96 5speed with a pop charger. but honastly i think if we actually took it to the track he would win. we raced on the locl strip and it was freezing cold out pluse he doesnt even know how to drive stick

The RSX-S is a quick little bugger. Plus, intake and exhaust produce amazing amounts of horsepower increase (Like 17. ) for reasons I'll probably never understand.

Race him before he gets the mods.

Intake produces like 15 hp, exhaust is the typical 5hp or so. Have you looked at the stock intake on those cars? Its the most convoluted shaped thing I've ever seen.

15 hp??!! on the filter or CAI? I haven't heard of anything about that car having that much hp gain for just the intake....

even if you have a y-pipe 5 speed you will lose with him stock. Car and Driver got 6.1 0-60 and 14.8 qtr. Of course, I'm talking 2 equally skilled drivers.

I've seen a dyno sheet myself. It was just a goofy Injen intake.

on the way to get my exhaust done yesterday i brought my friend up with the rsx type s, we started at about 80 and i initially blew away from him by 2 car lenghts, then at about 105 he just started creeping by me ever so slow and got about 3/4 of a car length in front of me before we ran outta room at around 130. i think the CAI affects the highway because with the stock intake it is litterally getting air forced down its throat, but the CAI is just tryin to suck lots of turbulence in that little chamber in the fender, the y pipe and exhaust are being put on right now so we'll see how it goes after that, all he has is intake and exhaust.
