Ahhh, you 1st had the CAI and then did the exhaust later. Same with me. I added the Y a year after my CAI.

The Y (and any other exhaust mod, but the Y the most) will compliment the CAI VERY well. You will see, the top end will be MUCH better. Right now you feel your car 'losing its breath' at the top of 4th and 5th gear, right? Well, the Y is the cure

on the way to get my exhaust done yesterday i brought my friend up with the rsx type s, we started at about 80 and i initially blew away from him by 2 car lenghts, then at about 105 he just started creeping by me ever so slow and got about 3/4 of a car length in front of me before we ran outta room at around 130. i think the CAI affects the highway because with the stock intake it is litterally getting air forced down its throat, but the CAI is just tryin to suck lots of turbulence in that little chamber in the fender, the y pipe and exhaust are being put on right now so we'll see how it goes after that, all he has is intake and exhaust.

Hey don't ask me, I'm confused too, but I've seen several dyno sheets that all say the same thing. I guess it's just starving for air.

Once the K series engines have an aftermarket, I think they'll be kicking all our asses.

Hmmm, methinks that the stock airbox was designed to promote low end torque, since 4 bangers are notorious for not having much. Maybe their drag times improved, but their around-the-town driving might have gone to crap

Maybe, but if he burns the clutch on launch, then that will mask the lo end loss a bit.

Ouch. You can only do that for so long before you end up being a few hundred in for a new clutch.

Well, the reason intake gave such gains in the Integra is because of the resonator. Because Acuras are supposed to be luxury sport, not sport, Acura decided to make the intake nice and quiet, while sacrificing some horsepower at the same time.

Anyone who's heard a Type R with a CAI at 8000 RPMs knows what Acura was trying to cover up.

I raced a rsx-s 6 speed. At 85mph he had one car link as he barked the tires going into third

The car has a close ratio 6 speed and not so good tires stock. Power has nothing to do with spinning the tires. Quick clutch release and crappy tires allow for it. I said this before and I'll say it again... I can bark my little sisters stock civic DX into 3rd.

<--- agrees with previous statement. Tell your friend if he can't handle his own car not to bother racing! Anyways next time you should think twice on whose car you are getting in.
