Non-contact front license plate?

Does anyone know of a custom front plate bracket that doesnt involve any drilling into the bumper cover or magnets?

I did some searching and found a website that sells a bracket like this for the 7th gens, but i cant find anything that specifically fits 4th gens (97-99 of that matters).

Worst case scenario i guess i can go the magnet route but if anyone knows a solution that taps into the frame/bumper/rad support without touching the front bumper cover - certainly let me know!

Make your own out of one of those ebay tow hooks.

I used a black door hinge from Home Depot. Cheap, and only requires one bolt. Drill underneath the middle of the bumper where the mouth is. You will also have to drill a small hole in the top center of the plate.

Can you elaborate on this further? Or take pics of this setup? Sounds promising. Thanks for the help btw.

I had one of those electric flip plates. It was cool but I hated how big the bracket was and the motor eventually failed on me.

I got a new front bumper and the plate stays in the trunk.

Awesome thanks! How much of a drop does your car have if any? The only issue i could see arising with that setup is the plate getting annhilated by speed bumps and such lol. But i think ill give it a try anyways.

I don't have any tickets yet! Car has no drop at all. My plate has been bent on the bottom portion of it. You can see it on the corner. If I were to park in front of a curb, my car's height would just make it over but the plate would scrape over it haha.

Wow I just noticed, it's actually not a gap. It's vinyl wrap. It's too dark too notice but it's the same as the top of the headlight.

Those black round rubber bump stops for the hood are old and beat up. The hood is leaning towards the right.
