Rim question!

I bought these rims and they have either really bad corrosion or maybe the chrome is just gone...

Anyway I'm talking about the chrome lip (or what's left of it anyway). You can see some of the chrome shine thru on the left side, anyone know how I can get the chrome back?

Thanks!

It depends on if the chrome has peeled off or if it is corroded. You can buy chrome polishes or you can try some fine steel wool, grade 000. Brillo pads work great, too.

I kinda tried some chrome polish, not sure if I let it sit long enough but it didn't take off the corrosion. It did however kinda "clear" it a little bit.

It was probably just clearcoated aluminum.

Turn your lemons into lemonade. Forget the chrome and use your brillo pads to bring out the brushed aluminum look even more.

Hah! Good idea, I'll probably just do that MUUUCCHHH easier than wet/dry sanding, re painting and hoping it don't start flaking off.

This. Use aircraft stripper to remove the clear from the lips then polish.

Honestly I'd strip the wheels entirely and repaint the centers.
